Winter Orchestra Concert

This Tuesday Rashelle had her Winter Intermediate Orchestra Concert. They did such a good job. Her teacher was pressed for time. We just finished listening to the beginning orchestra, then was intermediate, then her teacher had to be across town for 7pm choir concert. We held all applause until the end of the concerts...different..but somehow better...

She had her santa hat pulled down low over her eyes. I couldn't get her attention for her to adjust it...oh well, at least you can tell where she is.

A Sunday Afternoon Drive

Ok So I need to do more of this. Today was a lovely day and we went for a sunday drive. We live in Daybreak which is a community on the 'west side' of the Salt Lake Valley.
This is the view from Chris' "perkick" Room
As you can see from the Picture the Snow is finally gone and the grass is really green. Living here while it is murder in the winter with the snow blowing and the wind. We will be given a great blessing as a family, this next Saturday is the Community open house at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. From June through the first week in August is the public open house.
I'm not bragging, it is just that today it struck me very strongly just what a blessing it will be for our family. It is a small temple and we will have to make an appointment to attend, but what a blessing it will be to go to the temple with you community. It almost reminds one of what Kirtland or Nauvoo might of been like, with it's personal setting

I have felt for years that it would be a great oppertunity to retire and go work at a temple, and here I get the oppertunity early.

We took some other pictures... They are posted on Picasa. Check out our Sunday Drive

Mom's Foot

OK, so it is time to report on what has been happening this last week. Mom is out the the hospital and is at home recovering. While in the hospital she was treated for an infection in her foot. They had to open her foot up surgically and remove an abscess that had accumulated some of the infection. with that done she is home, kinda, she is still on an I. V. that delivers a focused anti-biotic, that means they know what the infection is and how to treat it specifically. She should be on that for 2 weeks, and then they will see about plastic surgery to close the wound. I will keep you posted. For the adventurous there are some pictures of the foot, but be warned this is really a big sore. here is the link Don't look if you don't want to know
